Welcome to the new Mpumalanga Institute of Architects' (MPIA) website. This website was born out of a growing need to inform professionals, and the public in the region, about important aspects pertaining to the architecture profession. We aim to focus on local issues, as well as bring you news and information of national and international importance.

Existing members of the MPIA will notice that the committee has taken the liberty to make changes to the MPIA's "look". The launch of the new identity together with the website ushers in an exciting new era for the institute. This website is the first step in forging a closer relationship with the public. It is our hope that the public’s curiosity for good architecture will be fuelled by the availability of a good source that speaks to the local sensibility. Thus more informed choices can be made with more creative results.

Because this website will serve a dual purpose (informing professionals and informing the public), different sections will apply to different clients. Professionals will have the space available to advertise their practice. Photographs and a short description of each practice will assist members of the public, who are looking for architects, in selecting which companies to interview or appoint. In time we will develop a downloadable document section offering a wide variety of standard documents of SAIA, SACAP and Public Works for downloading. The public will find information regarding the entire process, from the appointment of an architect through to construction and project completion.

Being a voluntary association with limited funds, this website would not have been possible without the financial support of our sponsors. Please take time to visit the sponsors’ page; also try visit their showrooms and familiarise yourself with their products. The MPIA committee would like to thank all the sponsors for their contributions.

If you have any queries, comments or suggestions feel free to communicate it to us. We will gladly receive your input so as to make ours one of the best regional institute websites in the country.
